Jose Reyes

Mr. Reyes is one of the few attorneys that are licensed to practice in both the United States (California) and Mexico. His practice covers all aspects of doing business in Mexico, from company incorporation, financing, international trade, tax, regulatory compliance, to mergers and acquisitions. His experience of more than 20 years as a corporate attorney and his recent experience as a government official give him a unique insight on the path to making a foreign investment in Mexico a success.

A few of the accomplishments in his career have been:

• Has been involved in over 250 real estate transactions with companies like GE Capital, Ford, Philips and also represented the US Government in its acquisitions of properties in Mexico.
• Represented four of the ten largest banks in Mexico.
• Incorporated over 400 companies, 100 of them subsidiaries of U.S. companies, advising them in every corporate matter, from their creation all the way to Initial Public Offerings.
• Headed litigation in cases with a value range from 10 to 75 million dollars.
• Supervised more than 500 civil and commercial litigation cases.
• Secured permits for the operation of many Manufacturing and Maquiladora companies (In-Bond manufacturing).
• Negotiated and drafted the contracts for the acquisition of a major bottling company for over 105 million dollars, the largest transaction in the history of the State of Chihuahua.

Mr. Reyes was also a professor of International Contracts, Commercial Law, Customs and Economic Law at the University of Juarez where he was the Dean of the Master’s program of International Trade.

Mr. Reyes received his Law Degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Juarez and his Master of Law Degree from the University of Notre Dame.
